Hi all,
I am noob to drupal.
I've read book and many threads or blog post. I've tried many stuff but none was correct. Sure I did all wrong.
I have Two menu. First is primary links (level 1). I succeed in displaying it. and it works.
The second one is primary links (level 2). It has to be shown when parent is active. It is the basic menu as almost every site.
I am sure it is simple but even that does not work on my site.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Theming Drupal with a complex html seems to be a real mess to me. I am sure not but for the moment, drupal theming is a nightmare while admin is really nice.

sorry
Sorry, I don't get your question.
Maybe this helps:
As I see it there are two kinds of secondary menus. One where
a) secondary menu depends on the primary menu
and
b) those which are completely independent (no matter what you click on either, both menus always remain the same).
neither a) or b) does work with every theme so be sure to try first with a theme where it works. After you saw it once working, it will be much easier.
There is page which describes it on drupal.org, but I cannot find it right now. From memory in Drupal 6: on menu settings set primary menu for both primary and secondary menu. Sounds confusing? Not if you see the page. Create a hierarchy in your primary menu. And it should work. If not search for secondary menu on drupal.org.
PS: I guess somebody should move this away from theme development
If you want secondary menu in a block http://drupal.org/project/menu_block
